Wolf River Coils TIA Mega Holder

I’ve been in love with 3D printing for a long time and recently I’ve been getting more interested in designing my own models to print. Most of the things I make a pretty simplistic, i.e. basic shapes measured and modified with booleans. I also really only focus on functionality of my models, I’m not too concerned with how they look.

I recently purchased a Wolf River Coils TIA Mega kit and it’s pretty awesome but transporting is is cumbersome and annoying. My biggest gripes are how the tripod legs and whip don’t have a way to be securely transported.

I started with creating a simple holder just for those items but I quickly realized that it’d be nice if I could keep the coil with it as well. So I quickly whipped up another version that will hold the coil with everything else. The only thing not accounted for is the radials but I have my radials wound around K6ARK’s antenna wire winder and the wires are kept with short pieces of paracord that I can tie to the tripod legs to keep it all together.

I’m happy with the final result, I’ve questioned the layout on if I want the tripod legs to circle the coil but I don’t think there would be any appreciable space savings. I would like to make another version that would fit any version of the WRC TIA kits. Perhaps, if I do, at that time I will try to integrate antenna winders and play with different layout to see how small of a footprint I can reach.

If you’d like to download the models for yourself you can find the Coil version here and the tripod/whip only version here. You can explore the other models I’ve made on my Printables profile.
